BIG BAND BASH 2003

The first band to play is from the Institute of Technical Education. Its music director is Eric Watson. While it is only two years old, it had the chance to perform in this major big band event.

The band was conducted by David Humphreys.

Throughout the set, they played a variety of contemporary, swing and Latin tunes like On Broadway by George Benson, Fly Me To The Moon and One Note Samba.  

It is heartening to know that more and more people are learning to appreciate jazz even at the age of 17. It seems that the jazz scene in Singapore is here to stay and set to grow in the near future.

The next band to appear is also new to me - it is the Singapore American School Middle School Jazz Band.
