Go Tutu Go!: Air Steps at the Heeren

Saturday, 10th August 2002, 6pm - It may be a Saturday, but that did not deter the supportive students of the Jitterbugs Swingapore from appearing outside the Heeren.

In fact, their appearance had been timely given that the crew did not have a powerful sound system.

As Lindy Hoppers have to dance to the rhythm of the music, the students thus supplemented the music with their singing and clapping.

This free open air performance featured many air steps or acrobatic moves typically seen in movies like Malcolm X and Hellzapoppin.

All good things must come to an end. In their trademark gesture, the performers carried their partners in various comical ways and waved to the audience.

You know we had a great weekend when you see our smiles and laughter.

But who created the air step?
