A Big Bang Debut!
Our debut `Swingspiration’ certainly began with a big bang! This is not surprising given the presence of two very well-established icons of swing - the Thomson Jazz Club represented by their third big band, the Thomson Jive Band, and Singapore’s Savoy-style Lindy Hop school, Jitterbugs Swingapore.
Like every swing event, this one did not fail to be a crowd puller. The audience had a great time listening to the brilliant big band sounds and rich vocals, watching the smooth swing dance and spectacular aerials, learning the Lindy Hop, and dancing to the exciting beat of Benny Goodman among others. Not to forget the key aim of Jazzpiration, this event also featured numerous young artistes, like vocalist Clara Chua, who are also JazzSG members.
We also like to thank our guests from the NUS Alumni, Singapore Meetup, Singapore Yahoo Groups and the Singapore Young Executive Network for joining us. Our local jazz events would not be possible without the support of listeners like them.

To learn Lindy Hop, flat-sole shoes are recommended. i.e. walking/jogging shoes ok, but no high heels.
