CHIJMES 7TH ANNUAL JAZZ FESTIVAL - CHIJAZZ 2002

Paul Ponnudorai & Jacintha Abisheganaden

Midway in the set, Jeremy introduced an accomplished guitarist. According to Jeremy, Tuck of Tuck and Patti, once described Paul as Tuck and Patti rolled into one. Not only does he yield the guitar with finesse, he could accompany himself on the vocals as well. As Jeremy and his quartet receded into the background for a while, Paul took over the stage with his repertoire of blues. It is amazing how just one man alone can produce such enchanting music. Later, when Jeremy joined in, Paul asked the crowd, "Can Jeremy play the blues?" Oh certainly, there is no doubt.

Good things do come together. As expected, a long time friend of Jeremy had to join in the show before Jeremy and his team cleared the stage for the next diva. Certainly, her rendition of old time favourites made this a night to remember.

As if the concert is not good enough, the organiser even flew in an amazing young pianist and her band .
